Cultural Season 17 was designed and organised to be an engaging and enriching experience for DAI Friends and community. This season we have focused on providing a greater number of events, significantly more than in past seasons. This means lectures, forum events and musical evenings have been considerably increased this time around.
There will be plenty of opportunities to interact with the collection, and people of all groups will benefit tremendously from our season’s programme. Like the signet rings and seals that are the visual representation of this season, DAI seeks to make its mark on the community as a whole.
The seal of this season’s theme had two functions. First, it indicated ownership and certified the authority of the person using it. Second, they stated boldly that an individual had made his mark on paper, property or a process. We intend to do the same on our community, but our mark will be exemplified in the increased awareness of and appreciation for Islamic art and culture in all its many forms.
